SVEN VERHAEGHE

Sven verhaeghe (b. 1974) questions the complex relationship between man and nature in his work. Besides paintings and drawings, his multifaceted oeuvre also includes video work and installation art, in which he explores his fascination for nature and his landscape.

His work is reminiscent of the idyllic landscapes of the 18th and 19th centuries. Whereas historical scenes were often depicted then, with Verhaeghe all that remains is a desolate landscape. What was once background now comes to the fore. His images move between past and present, creating a landscape that feels both familiar and timeless.

In Clear Your History, Verhaeghe shows paintings, sculptures and videos that reflect his multifaceted exploration of the landscape. Clear Your History is a duo presentation in collaboration with Aleida van Dijk. Their individual works together form a dialogue, driven by their shared fascination with nature.

ALEIDA VAN DIJK

Aleida van Dijk's work stems from a search for security and safety. A feeling she finds in her affinity with nature. Walking, slowing down and watching, form the core of her practice. On her houseboat, surrounded by water, or during her hikes through the mountains - again and again, she looks for places that trigger a sense of wonder in her. In her drawings, she makes this experience tangible: tranquil moments in which nature, time and connection
